Biography
University of North Carolina at Greensboro graduate Indiria Everett is 24 year old solo and collaborative pianist, contemporary composer, and teacher Indiria Everett has a studio dedicated to students of all ages and economic backgrounds who have an interest/experience for piano and or composition.
As a young musician, Indiria regularly performs, composes, accompanies and teaches music for the upcoming generation of contemporary music. She has recently collaborated with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's piano instructor, Dr. Annie Jeng to compose original pedagogical pieces, exercises and 8-hand arrangements.
During her undergraduate career, Indiria has performed one of her original pieces, "Nothing's Impromptu" for UNCG's College of Music and Visual Arts famous annual College series. She has also attended Louisiana's Summer Bayou Festival to compose for experienced musicians and composers. She has traveled to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to work with the undergraduate chapter of the Society of Composers Inc. to premier her original piece, "Carousel." Indiria has performed a wide range of piano solo and chamber works with her fellow musician friends for recitals and local music fundraiser benefits. The Greensboro symphony has invited Indiria to orchestrate a short melody written by a 5 year old student titled "The Secret Unicorn". She has also traveled to her mother's home town to give a free admission piano and composition recital for the Martin County Arts Council to promote the arts within the community.
She continues to regularly perform, compose and accompany soloists. She has collaborated with UNC-G piano instructor, Dr. Annie Jeng, to compose original pedagogical pieces, exercises and 8 hand arrangements. This summer she participated and performed in the Young Artists Program sponsored by East Carolina University. As the 2021 recipient of the Carol Brice Music Scholarship and the Metropolitan Atlanta Musicians Association (MAMA) Scholarship (the local and Southeast Region Division of the National Association of Negro Musicians respectively), Indiria competed in the National Competition in July 2021.
Her ultimate desire is to continue her educational pursuits by earning a Masters of Arts Degree in Music Performance and Composition in the near future and eventually, her Doctorate Degree. As a dedicated instructor at the Bull City Music School and in her own studio, Indiria works with students of all ages, economic backgrounds and with those interested in piano and/or composition. Additionally, she is also employed as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens.
She is an active member the Society of Composers Inc., Mu Phi Epsilon, Music Teacher's National Association, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Indiria is constantly surrounded by many musicians, educators and peers who support her artistry as a young musician.
Whenever she is not involved with music related activities, Indiria enjoys cooking vegan dishes, hiking with her dog, Lucky, and studying Spanish and Japanese.
